(Expoets News Reporter Choi Hee-jae) KBS will mobilize various platforms for the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup.

KBS is planning to showcase state-of-the-art technology and differentiated broadcasting at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which opens on the 21st (Korea time).

KBS named Koo Ja-cheol, an active player and former captain of the national soccer team who is also a "Qatar source," as its new commentator. Koo will join the Kwangyong Lee castor in broadcasting the opening game and the three group games against Korea. Commentators Cho Won-hee and Han Joon-hee and Nam Hyun-jong will also join the team.

KBS 2TV quickly delivers World Cup news through "Good Morning Qatar" (morning time) and KBS 1TV's "World Cup Highlights" (afternoon time). In particular, KBS will broadcast live footage of Korean players before the game through its only ground camera installed among terrestrial broadcasting companies.

In addition, KBS targets 2049 viewers through fresh collaboration with soccer-specialized YouTube channels such as "Easta TV," "Lee Soo-il," commentator Koo Ja-cheol's "Gu Ja-cheol Official," and commentator Cho Won-hee's "Iger Hae Jo Won-Hyung."

"I have higher expectations because I thought I was the farthest away from KBS," said Hwang Deok-yeon, a commentator on Eastar TV. "I want to make good content with KBS, which introduced Eastar from the corner of the room to Yeouido."

In addition, commentator Koo Ja-cheol produced a fake documentary titled "Core No. 7 Koo Ja-cheol," which is a concept that challenges the presidential election of soccer sea design, as digital original contents, and is receiving positive responses. Some of the contents of "Core No. 7 Koo Ja-cheol" and the various charms of commentator Koo Ja-cheol can also be found in the mini-series "Career Gu Ja-cheol," which has been released on TikTok Korea since November 9.

Apartment residents and office workers can meet KBS' World Cup-related contents nearby through "Elevator TV."

It is also sending out various videos including introduction of Group H of the Qatar World Cup, introduction of the Korean national team, and guide for the opening match. In addition, KBS will join hands with AimBroad, a company specializing in soccer AI, to provide real-time AI digital content service that adopts "football AI" technology. "AI Service," a special technology based on real-time data, provides prediction of tactics, comparison of performance of both teams, and AI rating of players on its website.

Viewers of UHD TV (Internet Connection) who receive direct terrestrial broadcasting can enjoy Qatar World Cup games more enriching and fun through the "TIVIVA mini two-way service" provided by KBS. When the Qatar World Cup match begins, the service menu is automatically displayed at the bottom of the TV screen, and viewers can comfortably watch the selected service through the TV screen by manipulating the left and right buttons of the TV remote control and pressing the OK button.

The "real-time channel" service allows you to watch videos sent by multiple cameras installed in the stadium at the same time, realizing a sense of realism.

In addition, like the website, you can watch the game data analyzed by artificial intelligence (AI) from various angles in real time on the TV, and will provide VoD-type videos before and after the game.

Meanwhile, KBS plans to test-run the "Ido Service" through broadcasting and 5G convergence during the Qatar World Cup, which allows people to watch broadcasts anywhere in the country without difficulty watching.

The Qatar World Cup will open on the 21st, Korean time. South Korea will be in Group H to face Uruguay, Ghana, and Portugal in the same group.
